I sure wish I had read this message prior to my early morning bike ride. Yaowzers! were my hands and wrists cold! I vow to be more diligent about recognizing the glove season as it approaches!

Thanks, GlovecrazY, for your dedication to social service and making this world a better place to receive a "warm" handshake from a friend.

7:57 AM: I am sitting in my new car waiting for the seats to warm up, warming the seat next to me so my 5 year old's booty will be warm also, b/c alas Hell is freezing over...no wait............it's just the weather in Rochester..........and I wonder once again why I haven't moved to where I truly belong.....the beach....a real one....a warm one...where the sound of the surf alone can instantly melt away the stress allowing a blissful comatose-like state to enter...........wait that is for another time...............and so I say to myself .... as I am fond of talking to myself.....make note....it's time to get the gloves out and I don't care if people think I look silly...............my gosh darn steering wheel is cold enough to turn my whole body to ice just by touching it........and driving with your knees isn't safe.....even if my legs were long enough to reach.........

Thank you SO much for sending me this [Annual Glove Notice]....I love it!!! I needed the pure speechless happiness it has brought on a day of real need :)

Dear Mr. Gerard,

I have to report that your Glove craze has inspired a new family holiday in my home! We’re calling Oct. 1 “Glove Day” … complete with the slogan… “You gotta love a glove!”

Earlier this week, my sons started noticing the early morning cold weather and were actually requesting that I find last year’s packed away gloves. I decided to purchase a new pair of gloves for each of them, which were waiting in their cereal bowls (minus the cereal and milk) this morning.

These gloves are “first of the season” gloves: lightweight, fuzzy, and colorful. Owen commented that he “wouldn’t wear them in the heavy snow of Winter,” but we agreed that they’re perfect for the beginning of the glove-wearing season when you need something to protect your hands.

As part of this new Glove Holiday tradition, we also had French toast, hot chocolate (Dad and the kids) and Chai tea (Mom) to kick off the cold weather season. Rochester is really obliging us this year with weather to match this 1st of October fall day.

I’ve decided this will be a new yearly tradition in our house. Greet Oct. 1 with a snappy new pair of gloves and a special hot breakfast.

Thanks for inspiring us! And for keeping us educated on the wonders of gloves in the Oct-March timeframe.
